Morningstar Bridge Humbucker

from $150.00

The Morningstar is the quintessential passive metal humbucker for players seeking a balance of power and articulation. At its heart is a powerful ceramic magnet, delivering exceptionally tight upper bass while allowing lower registry frequencies to remain huge. The eq feels fairly flat and exhibits a somewhat waxy tone that gels strings together into a chord very well. With its intense magnetism, the Ceramic 8 breaks up easily and musically in lower gain settings, but delivers a quick, percussive and metallic attack when pushed. This pickup weighs in at a reasonably hot 16k. The coil structure is very symmetrical to reject hum and tighten the upper bass resonant peak, but wound wide to fill out the lower bass. Fillister and hex pole pieces are used, as well as vintage style push back wire. It is vacuum wax potted to prevent microphonics and encourage only musical feedback at stage volumes. It would be almost impossible for any metal player to go wrong with this humbucker.
